What we collect, why, and what we do with it.

• Account data — name, email, phone number, language preference. From you, at signup.
• Booking data — pickup address, trip date, headcount, traveller type (foreign vs citizen for park fees), notes. From you, when booking.
• Payment metadata — the last 4 digits of cards you use, mobile-money reference IDs. Snippe handles full card numbers — we never store them.
• Operational — booking history, ratings, chat messages with your driver, web-push tokens if you opt in.
• For drivers only — NIDA national ID, TLB permit, vehicle registration, insurance documents, headshot. Required for police vetting; visible only to admins and the Arusha Tourist Police office.

To run the platform: process bookings, dispatch drivers, send you trip notifications, calculate refunds, prevent fraud. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Your assigned driver sees your name, phone, pickup address and trip notes. Other drivers and other travellers do not. Hotel concierges who attributed your booking see your trip metadata (route, date, total) but not your full contact details.

Twende Safari admins can see all data for operational and dispute-resolution purposes. Access is logged.

On Supabase infrastructure in EU-West (Ireland), backed up daily. Mobile-payment events flow through Snippe, who store their own copies per their privacy policy.

You can download your data, correct it, or request deletion at any time. Email joe@twendesafari.tz and we'll action it within 14 days. Note that some information (e.g. completed bookings, financial records) is retained for tax and audit purposes per Tanzanian law.

We use first-party cookies for sign-in sessions, your chosen display currency and language, and hotel attribution. No third-party advertising trackers, no Google Analytics user-level tracking.

The platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. Children travel as part of a booking made by their adult guardian.
